Annie Rix Militz was a pioneering New Thought teacher, author, and one of the most influential women in the movement’s early development. A student of the renowned “teacher of teachers,” Emma Curtis Hopkins, she was ordained as an independent Christian Science minister alongside Charles and Myrtle Fillmore.
Militz became a key figure in the formative years of Unity. She contributed extensively to the Fillmores’ magazine, Unity, and her Bible lessons helped shape some of the movement’s early teachings. A widely traveled lecturer with an inclusive spiritual outlook, she taught that God is the one presence and power and that divine truth can bring healing, prosperity, and transformation.
She also founded the Homes of Truth, which grew into a network of spiritual centers, and later became editor and publisher of her own New Thought magazine, Master Mind. Through her books, articles, and lectures, Militz helped bring practical metaphysical teachings to readers around the world.
