Benjamin John McDonald, usually credited simply as John McDonald, was an American businessman, lecturer, and New Thought teacher best remembered for The Message of a Master.
A former machinery salesman, he spoke throughout California and Oregon during the late 1920s and early 1930s, presenting practical metaphysical teachings on prosperity, mental discipline, spiritual law, and personal achievement.
Although little is known about his life, historical records suggest that his wife, Anna Deo McDonald, may also have played an important part in the creation of his celebrated book.
“I am master of my own destiny, and I can make my life anything that I wish it to be.”
— John McDonald
